A Vast Conspiracy: The True Story of the Presidential Sex Scandal (1999), Too Close to Call: The 36-Day Battle to Decide the 2000 Election (2001), and The Nine: Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court (2001) are among them (2007).



His book The Nine: Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court was awarded the 2008 J. Anthony Lukas Prize for Nonfiction by Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and Harvard University’s Nieman Foundation for Journalism.

The Oath: The Obama White House and the Supreme Court (2012), American Heiress: The Kidnapping, Crimes, and Trial of Patty Hearst (2016), and True Crimes and Misdemeanors, the Investigation of Donald Trump (2017) are among his other well-received books (2020).

After exposing himself during a zoom video chat between New Yorker and WNYC radio staffers in October 2020, he was suspended from The New Yorker.

He was sacked from The New Yorker the following month. WNYC’s parent organization, New York Public Radio, has also banned him indefinitely from its airwaves and podcast. He went on sabbatical from CNN.

Toobin said that the incident was inadvertent and that he thought he was off-camera at the time. To his wife, family, friends, and coworkers, he expressed regret.

Ellen Toobin is the daughter of Jeffrey Toobin and his wife, Amy Bennett McIntosh. Ellen schooled at Macalester College in St. Paul where she bagged her bachelor’s degree.

Regarding her relationship life, Ellen met Eric at a senior political science seminar. Ellen Toobin married Eric Todd in a Los Angeles ceremony on August 18, 2018. Eric works as a product manager for Retail Next in Chicago.
