Mickey Rooney Jr., the first child of Mickey Rooney and a founding member of the Mouseketeers, has passed away on July 16,2022 at the age of 77.
On July 16, 2022, Rooney passed away at his Glendale, Arizona, residence at age 77. According to reports, Mickey Rooney Jr, the cause of death is currently not yet publicized but it’s speculated that he could have passed away due to natural causes.
According to a Facebook post by his friend and fellow actor Paul Petersen, Rooney Jr. passed away on Saturday at his home in Glendale, Arizona. They were both Disney’s first-generation Mouseketeers.
Rooney’s parents are Rooney (1920–2014) and soprano and former Miss Birmingham Betty Jane Rase (1927–2002). Following his brother Tim’s introduction as a “Mouseketeer” in the Mickey Mouse Club in 1955, he made his acting debut in Hot Rods to Hell in 1967.
He then made the following appearances in the films Honeysuckle Rose and the television film Beyond the Bermuda Triangle, which were released in 1975 and 1980, respectively.
Rooney and Merci Montello, the Playboy Playmate of the Month, were previously married. After initially meeting in 1986, Laura Hollander and Rooney were married on December 30th, 1986. They remained married until her death in 2006.
