Mitchell Robinson spent his first two years of high school at Pine Forest High School in Pensacola, Florida, before transferring to Landry-Walker College and Career Preparatory High School in New Orleans as a sophomore, where he never played.
Mitchell Robinson played for Pine Forest as a freshman and sophomore, but he didn’t have much of an impact because he was still new to basketball, having only started playing in eighth grade, during a growth spurt that saw him grow from 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m) to 7 ft 0 in (1.90 m) (2.13 m).
Before his junior year at Chalmette High School, he played in the summer league.
Robinson led the Owls to their first state playoff win in 19 years as a junior. In the second round, he assisted in giving first-seeded and eventual state champion Natchitoches Central High School everything they could handle before bowing out, their closest playoff game until the state final.
