Nathan Edward Eovaldi is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. He was a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins, New York Yankees, and Tampa Bay Rays in the past. \

He won the World Series with the Red Sox in 2018 and was named an All-Star in 2021. Nathan Eovaldi had Tommy John surgery on his right elbow to repair the ulnar collateral ligament.

On a baseball scholarship, he has committed to attend Texas A&M University. In 2008, he was named to Texas’ All-State squad as an honourable mention.



The Los Angeles Dodgers selected Nathan Eovaldi in the 11th round of the 2008 MLB Draft. Before getting called up to the majors, he played for the Great Lakes Lions and Gulf Coast Dodgers.

He made six starts with the Dodgers in 2012 before being shifted to the bullpen. Eovaldi was dealt with the Miami Marlins for Hanley Ramirez and Randy Choate on July 25, 2012.

He won his debut game for the Marlins against the San Diego Padres. With 33 starts and 199+23 innings pitched, he set new career highs.

Eovaldi signed a one-year, $2 million deal with the Tampa Bay Rays on February 14, 2017, which includes a $2 million club option for the 2018 season. The Rays traded Eovaldi to the Boston Red Sox on July 25, 2018, in exchange for Jalen Beeks.

On July 29, Eovaldi made his Red Sox debut, pitching seven innings without allowing a run in a 3–0 victory over the Minnesota Twins.
