Former No. 1 in the world in doubles, Nicolas Pierre Armand Mahut is a French professional tennis player.



He has won the doubles title at five different Grand Slam events, including the 2015 US Opens, 2016 Wimbledon Championships, 2018 French Open, and 2019 Australian Open, all while partnered with Pierre-Hugues Herbert.

With Michal Llodra and Édouard Roger-Vasselin, the combination also won the 2021 French Open and placed second at the 2015 Australian Open. Mahut was second at the 2013 French Open and 2019 Wimbledon Championships.



Mahut attained the No. 1 spot in doubles on June 6, 2016, and remained there for a total of 39 weeks. She has also amassed 35 doubles championships, including the ATP Finals in 2019 and 2021. Additionally, he has seven doubles Masters 1000 victories.

Mahut has won four tour-level tournaments in singles and has an ATP world No. 37 rating, which was a career-best. The only active players with more titles on grass courts are Roger Federer (19), Andy Murray (8), and Novak Djokovic (6).

In the singles category, his best Grand Slam performance came at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships, where he advanced to the fourth round.

Mahut’s first-round match against John Isner at the 2010 Championships included the longest game in tennis history. After more than 11 hours of play, Isner prevailed against him 70-68 in the fifth set.
