Nikola Mektic is a professional tennis player from Croatia. He has held the position of world No. 1 in doubles tennis in the past.
He won the men’s doubles title at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships with his countryman Mate Pavi, and the mixed doubles title at the 2020 Australian Open alongside Barbora Krejková.
He was the second Croatian to hold the top spot in men’s doubles when he did so in October 2021. With four different partners, On the ATP Tour, Mekti has won a total of 16 doubles titles, including a total of six at the Masters 1000 level.
He and Koolhof also triumphed at the 2020 ATP Finals. In May 2013, he attained his highest singles ranking of No. 213 in the world.
Mekti and Pavi won the men’s doubles gold medal at the 2020 Olympic Games. Mekti was a member of the Croatian team that won the 2018 Davis Cup.
