Tennis star and former No. 1 in the world in doubles, Nikola Mekti represents Croatia. He has won two Grand Slam events: the mixed doubles title at the 2020 Australian Open with Barbora Krejková, and the men’s doubles title at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships with compatriot Mate Pavi.



For the 2018 ATP Finals in London, Mektic and Alexander Peya met the requirements. Make and Alicja Rosolska won the Davis Cup while representing Croatia in the same year that he made his first Grand Slam finals in mixed doubles at the US Open. Additionally, in Madrid (2018), Indian Wells (2019), and Monte Carlo, he took home three Masters 1000 victories with three different partners (2019).

2020 was Mektic’s most successful year thus far in his career. He and Barbora Krejková won the mixed doubles title at the 2020 Australian Open, and he and Wesley Koolhof won the doubles competition at the 2020 ATP Finals. He and Wesley Koolhof also advanced to the 2020 US Open doubles championship match. He finished the year at No. 3 in the doubles race and No. 8 in the top 10 doubles rankings with his partner Wesley Koolhof. At the 2022 Queen’s Club Championships, Mektic and Pavic won their third championship of the year and twenty overall. The team successfully defended its championship at the 2022 Eastbourne International.
