Paul Anthony Sorvino was an American actor, opera singer, businessman, writer, and sculptor. He was born on April 13, 1939, and passed away on July 25, 2022.

He was noted for his appearances as NYPD Sergeant Phil Cerreta on the TV series Law & Order and as Paulie Cicero (based on Paul Vario) in the 1990 gangster picture Goodfellas.

He frequently portrayed authoritative characters on both sides of the law, and he was known for his work in all of these roles. A Touch of Class, Reds, The Rocketeer, Nixon, and Romeo + Juliet were some of the films in which he appeared in minor parts.

In his previous life, Sorvino served as a deputy sheriff in the state of Pennsylvania. After his daughter Amanda’s ex-boyfriend hammered on her hotel room door and made threats,

he brandished a revolver in front of Daniel Snee and showed him that he was prepared to defend his family. At a motel on January 3 in Stowe, Vermont, Amanda stated during her testimony that Snee made a death threat against her.

She stated that she went into the bathroom, shut the door, and then contacted both the police and her father, who is 67 years old.

Sorvino, who had been suffering from poor health for a number of years before his death on July 25, 2022, passed away at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

On Monday morning, the actor died away, and his wife, Dee Dee Benkie, was at his side as he did so.
