American actress, director, and producer Penny Marshall, real name Carole Penny Marshall, was well-known. She garnered three nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy for her depiction of Laverne DeFazio on the television sitcom Laverne & Shirley, for which she was best known.

In the United States of America, Penny was born on October 15, 1943 in The Bronx, New York. At the age of 75, she passed away on December 17, 2018 in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, California. Cardiopulmonary failure, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and type 1 diabetes were the three causes of mortality.

With Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Penny made her directorial debut in 1986. In 1988, she also helmed Big. Big made history as the first female-directed movie to earn over $100 million at the U.S. box office.
