Ryne Stanek is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2017. He previously played for the Tampa Bay Rays and Miami Marlins.

Blue Valley High School in Stilwell, Kansas, was Stanek’s alma mater. Stanek compiled a 5–1 record with a 0.72 ERA and 71 strikeouts as a senior.

Baseball America rated Stanek as the 42nd best high school player available in the 2010 MLB Draft. Stanek was taken by the Seattle Mariners in the third round, but he did not sign.

A few years later, Stanek went on to study at the University of Arkansas, where he was a member of the Razorbacks baseball team. During his junior year of college, he joined the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League and played summer baseball with them.

Stanik earned an 8–4 record in 2012 with an impressive 2.82 earned run average (ERA) and struck out 83 batters in more than 90 complete innings pitched. At the 2012 Houston College Classic, he was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

He was a member of the U.S. collegiate national baseball team during the summer of his senior year of high school.
