Scott Alexander Scheffler is a professional golfer from the United States who competes on the PGA Tour.

Scheffler is currently ranked World Number One in the Official World Golf Ranking as of July 2022. He won the Masters Tournament in 2022.

Scheffler was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey to parents, Diane and Scott Scheffler. Scheffler lived with his parents in Montvale, New Jersey.



His family relocated to Dallas, Texas when Scheffler was six. Whiles his dad Scott was a stay-at-home dad, his mom Diane worked as the chief operations officer at the law firm Thompson & Knight.

His passion for golf began when he was three years old when his parents got him a set of plastic clubs and a ball.

Scheffler was trained by Coach Randy at Royal Oaks Golf Club. Coach Randy was known to have coached Justin Leonard to victory at The Open Championship in 1997.

Scheffler competed against players like fellow Dallas-area native Will Zalatoris and won 75 times on the PGA junior circuit during his heyday.

Scheffler had a small physique and was just 5 feet (1.5 m) tall when he started high school, but he went through a significant growth spurt and soon reached over 6 feet (1.8 m) in height.

Scheffler suffered back issues as a result of his rapid growth, especially during his sophomore year.
