Sean Robert Doolittle (born September 26, 1986) is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Washington Nationals. He was a member of the Oakland Athletics, Cincinnati Reds, and Seattle Mariners in the past.

Doolittle was drafted in the first round of the 2007 MLB draft as a first baseman and outfielder by the Athletics. In 2012, he made his Major League Baseball debut as a pitcher. In 2014 and 2018, he was named to the All-Star team.

Doolittle was born in Tabernacle Township, New Jersey, and grew up there. He lived near a baseball field and frequented there for practice. He was a pitcher in Babe Ruth Baseball.

Doolittle was a standout pitcher at Shawnee High School in Medford, New Jersey, where he played baseball. Shawnee won the state championship under Doolittle’s leadership.

Doolittle was a starting pitcher and first baseman at the University of Virginia. Danny Hultzen now holds the record for most victories by a Virginia pitcher in a career (22), which he previously held.

He played collegiate summer baseball with the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Harwich Mariners in 2005. Doolittle was chosen to the USA National (Collegiate) Baseball Team in 2005 and 2006.
