Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was the President of the United Arab Emirates, the Emir of Abu Dhabi, and the supreme commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces from 2004 to 2022.

On September 7, 1948, Sheikh Khalifa was born at Al Muwaji Fort in Al Ain. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikha Hessa bint Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan had him as their eldest son, and he grew up in Dubai.

His ancestors hail from the Bani Yas tribe, the first inhabitants of the United Arab Emirates.



In Al Ain, he attended the city school and later the Royal Military Academy, where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history.

In his early years, Sheikh Khalifa was taught by his father. Public majlis often spoke to him, training and educating him in political and administrative abilities.

His mother and grandmother, as well as his grandfather, Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa, were a source of wisdom and support for him throughout his life.

During his father’s reign as Emir of Abu Dhabi in 1966, Sheikh Khalifa was just 18 years old and was selected as the Emir’s envoy in the Eastern Province.

Many improvements were made and programs were implemented in the Eastern Province to improve local agriculture as his representative. The public’s confidence in his abilities as a leader was bolstered by his accomplishment at this point.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan

As president, emir, and supreme commander of the UAE armed forces from 2004 until 2022, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan served as a role model for other Arab leaders.
