Texas Rangers Worst season In History

In 1961, the Texas Rangers, formerly known as the Washington Senators, became a professional baseball team, and since then, they have been a member of the American League. There have been eight different postseason appearances for the Rangers over their 61 seasons as a team (50 of those have been in Arlington).

On average, the new Senators lost an average of 90 games every season over the first half of their existence. One way to describe the team’s troubles is “Washington: first in war, first in peace, and yet last in the American League,” an old Senators joke.

A 86–76 record and fourth place in the American League East in 1969 under the leadership of future Hall of Famer Ted Williams was the club’s only victories. Outfielder/first baseman Frank Howard won two home run championships with the squad from 1965 to 1972 as its most decorated player.

The 1963 Season was the worst in the team franchise with the number of win-lose ratios recorded by the team.They finished with a record of 56 wins and 106 loses to finish 10th in the American League in 1963 season
