They finished fourth in the AFL’s Western Division with a record of two wins, eleven losses, and one tie, and had the worst record in the league. In their final ten games of the season, the Broncos went winless.

In 1963, the Broncos threw for the fewest passing yards in the AFL, averaging only 2,487 yards a game. The leading passing club in the league, the Houston Oilers, passed for 229.2 yards per game. Surprisingly, Lionel Taylor of the Broncos led the league in receptions with 78.



In 1963, the Broncos surrendered 473 points, the most in AFL history and the second-worst ever during a 14-game season.

Until the New Orleans Saints set the mark in 2015, the Broncos’ 40 throwing touchdowns allowed in 1963 were the most in NFL history.
