Trevor Story is an American professional baseball player who plays the position of shortstop when on the field. He is currently a free agent.

Trevor’s career started in Irving High School in Irving, Texas where he played for the Tigers baseball team both as a shortstop and pitcher. He was also a football player but stopped playing football to concentrate all his energy on baseball. After high school, he continued at the Louisiana State University (LSU) where he played college baseball on scholarship.

In 2011, the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB) selected him as a shortstop in the first round of the 45th overall selection, of the 2011 MLB draft. He signed with the Rockies and received a $915,000 signing bonus.

Trevor started playing in minor leagues after he signed with the Rockies. He played for the Casper Ghosts of the Rookie-level Pioneer League, he also played for the Asheville Tourists of the Class A South Atlantic League (SAL) in 2012.

During the 2016 baseball season, Trevor had to compete with Cristhian Adames to become the Rockies’ starting shortstop during spring training. He had a .340 batting average during the spring training and made it to the Rockies’ Opening Day roster. He made his MLB debut for the Rockies on April 4, 2016, when they played against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
