Tyler Allen Glasnow (born August 23, 1993) is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Tampa Bay Rays (MLB). He formerly played for the Pittsburgh Pirates in Major League Baseball. Glasnow was born in Santa Clarita, California, on August 23, 1993. Greg, his father, used to swim and play water polo, and Donna, his mother, is a retired gymnast.

Glasnow went to William S. Hart High School, which is where many other Major League Baseball (MLB) pitchers went to school. Glasnow received a $600,000 signing bonus from the Pirates.

In 2012, he made his professional debut for the Gulf Coast Pirates of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League, where he went 0–3 with a 2.10 ERA in 11 games (ten starts) and also started one game for the State University of New York.



Glasnow was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays for Chris Archer on July 31, 2018, along with Austin Meadows and a player to be selected later (Shane Baz). He was thrown into the starting lineup right away.

Tyler has a senior brother named Ted. Greg and Donna Glasnow gave birth to them. He is 6.2 feet tall. He went to William S Hart High School and Notre Dame University for his studies.

He was a heptathlon and decathlon specialist. He competed for the Irish at the ACC Indoor Championships, finishing third in the heptathlon (5,459 points) and first in the decathlon (5,444 points) for the Fighting Irish.

He was also a six-year letter winner in track and football at William S. Hart Union (Calif.) in high school. As a junior and senior, he was a two-time track conference champion and was named to the all-conference and all-city teams… As a senior, he competed in the Junior Olympics as team MVP and captain
