Wanda Sykes is an American actress who was born to military dad, Harry Sykes and mother, Marion Louise Sykes. Wanda was born March 7, 1964, in Portsmouth, Virginia in the United States of America. She is also known to be a stand-up comedian and a writer.
She attended Arundel High School situated in Gambrills, Mary land and Hampton University. After school, she worked for the National Security Agency and the Hal Leonard publishing house before pursuing her talent in comedy.
Wanda starred in the political comedy series, Amazon’s Alpha House in 2013. Sykes appeared in only eight episodes of the series and then in 2018, it was announced that she was going to be the head writer for the tenth season of the show, Roseanne. Due to the recognition this announcement brought and the fact that the program was tagged as far-right and had a lot of conspiratorial views even from Roseanne Barr ranting about it, Wanda put on her Twitter page that she was no longer going to be working on the series.
Wanda Sykes is set to co-host the 94th Academy Awards with Regina Hall and Amy Schumer come March 27, 2022.
