Why Did G Flip Change His Name?
Georgia Flipo, well known by her stage as G Flip, has decided to come out as non-binary.
G Flip said on Instagram that they will no longer be referred to as she/her and will instead be addressed as ‘they/them.’
‘Researching what it means to be non-binary made me realize that’s who I’ve always been.’ I’m also going to utilize they/them pronouns from now on.’ I’m still the same person; non-binary is simply the most accurate way to describe who I am and how I’ve always felt, like a gender smoothie…. anyway, go Pies.
Other singers and famous figures have expressed their support for G Flip, including celebrity sexologist Chantelle Otten, AFLW player Sabrina Frederick, and reality starlets Abbie Chatfield and Angie Kent.
G Flip has already come out as a lesbian, so this isn’t the first time the singer-songwriter has done so.
‘There wasn’t much lesbian representation when I was growing up,’ the Melbourne-based artist told The New Daily earlier this year.
Killing My Time and Drink Too Much were both awarded platinum in Australia, and the artist is best recognized for them.
At the ARIA Awards in 2019, they were named Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year.
