On May 16, 2014, the Houston Texans signed Ferentz. On August 30, 2014, the Texans released him, and the next day he was added to the practice squad. On December 30, 2014, he penned a reserve/futures deal with the Texans.

Ferentz was released from his contract by the Texans on September 5, 2015.
