James Ferentz, an American football center with the National Football League’s New England Patriots, was born on June 5, 1989. (NFL). 2014 saw the Houston Texans sign him as an undrafted free agent. He participated in Iowa’s collegiate football program. He has also participated for the Denver Broncos.

On May 16, 2014, the Houston Texans signed Ferentz. On August 30, 2014, the Texans released him, and the next day he was added to the practice squad. On December 30, 2014, he penned a reserve/futures deal with the Texans.

Ferentz was released from his contract by the Texans on September 5, 2015.

The Denver Broncos selected Ferentz off waivers on September 6, 2015.

He participated in 13 games during the regular season in 2015. Ferentz was a member of the Broncos team that won Super Bowl 50 on February 7, 2016. The Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers by a score of 24-10. He participated in six games for the Broncos in the 2016 season.

The Broncos cut loose Ferentz on May 10, 2017.

Ferentz signed with the New England Patriots on May 18, 2017. On September 2, 2017, he was released, and the next day, he was added to the practice squad. On February 6, 2018, he penned a reserve/future deal with the Patriots.

After being released by the Patriots on September 1 of this year, Ferentz was added the following day to the practice squad. On November 3, 2018, Ferentz was added to the Patriots’ active roster. When the Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in Super Bowl LIII, Ferentz captured his second championship.

During the final roster cuts on August 31, 2019, Ferentz was discharged. On September 6, 2019, when Russell Bodine was let go, he was re-signed.

Ferentz joined the Patriots practice squad on September 16, 2020. On September 26, 2020, he was elevated to the active roster. On October 16, the team placed him on the reserve/COVID-19 list, then on October 28, he was activated.

Ferentz renewed his agreement with the Patriots on May 17, 2021. Ferentz was released on August 31 and added to the practice squad the following day. On October 27, he was added to the roster of players. On November 8, 2021, he was cut and later re-signed to the practice squad.

Ferentz renewed his contract with the Patriots on March 14, 2022.
