Tyler Glasnow is an American. He was born in  Santa Clarita, California, United States.

Originally born on August 23, 1993, Tyler Allen Glasnow is an American professional baseball pitcher who now plays for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB). In the past, he was a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates of the Major League Baseball.

Tyler e grew up in a sports-oriented family: his father Greg swam and played water polo, his mother Donna is a retired gymnast who went on to coach at Cal State Northridge, and his older brother Ted competed in the decathlon for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.



As hardwood sellers in the Santa Clarita Valley since 1979, Greg and Donna have also built a successful business.

William S. Hart High School in Santa Clarita, California, is the alma school of Glasnow, as well as of other Major League Baseball (MLB) pitchers, including James Shields, Trevor Bauer, and Mike Montgomery.

Glasnow went to William S. Hart High School in Santa Clarita, California, where he received his education. Earlier that year, he committed to playing college baseball for the University of Portland.

Glasnow was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft.
