Born on February 14, 1993 (age 29 years), in Victoria, Canada. Nicholas began his high school education at the Lambrick Park Secondary School in Saanich, British Columbia.

During his days as a senior, Nicholas was said to have had an ulnar collateral ligament injury in his right elbow which caused him to skip pitching for the school.
