Embree was a student at Los Angeles’s Compton Community College. The Denver Broncos signed him as an undrafted free agent, and he appeared in 20 games (6 as a starter) over two seasons as a flanker.

Jon Embree had 33 receptions for 519 yards and five touchdowns, including what is still the first multi-touchdown game by a Broncos rookie, which occurred against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Jon William Embree is an American football coach and former player who currently serves as the Miami Dolphins’ Assistant Head Coach. He is now the Dolphins’ tight ends coach. He was born on October 15th, 1965.

He formerly served as the University of Colorado’s head coach. He formerly worked as a tight ends coach for the National Football League’s Washington Redskins (NFL).

Embree previously served as an assistant coach for the Kansas City Chiefs for three seasons, UCLA for three seasons, the Cleveland Browns for one season, and Colorado for ten seasons.

Embree entered television broadcasting following the termination of his playing career before being asked to volunteer as a coach with the Buffaloes in 1991 by head coach Bill McCartney. Embree was a member of McCartney’s first recruiting class as head coach in 1983.
