Eric Henderson Career History As A Player

Eric Henderson with the Cincinnati Bengals

While his draft stock took a hit due to injury during his final two seasons at Georgia Tech, Henderson signed with the Bengals as a college free agent on May 9, 2006. When he was released on September 2, 2006, he was re-signed by the Bengals on September 4 and spent the entire season on the practice squad.

Five tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble were recorded by Henderson in all four preseason games in 2006, which included appearances in three games.

If Henderson had been on the 53-man roster, the Reserve/Injured list, or a Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list for six games, he would have earned an accumulated year of experience toward NFL free agency in 2006. He was added to the Bengals’ offseason roster on January 2, 2007.

Henderson was on the Bengals’ practice squad for the first seven weeks of the 2008 season. On October 24, after fullback Reagan Maui’a was placed on the injured reserve, he was signed to the active roster.

Henderson was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a neck injury on December 10. In his final two games of the year, he had two tackles. On April 27, 2009, the Bengals cut ties with Henderson.
