The death of Deep Sidhu, an Indian barrister, actor, and activist who worked in Punjabi language films has made headlines. Sidhu started his film career with the Punjabi film Ramta Jogi which was produced by actor Dharmendra under his banner Vijayta Films.
Deep Sidhu died in a road accident in Sonipat, Haryana, after his automobile collided with a truck on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal expressway. The activist was said to be traveling from Delhi to PunjaPunjab when the incident occurred near Pipli toll plaza in Kharkhoda.
Hours after his death, the postmortem report on Wednesday revealed that the main cause of the death was head injuries. The collision was so powerful that Sidhu’s side airbag also exploded.
Who was with Deep Sidhu in the car?
Deep Sidhu was said to be traveling with a lady identified as Reena Raj. Mohammad Yusuf added that he had managed to pull Reena Rai, Deep Sidhu’s friend who was with him at the time of the accident, out of the car and laid her on the pavement. She was taken to a hospital for treatment where she is said to be doing fine.
According to the police, the girl who accompanied Deep Sidhu in the SUV told them that a truck ahead of them was allegedly “speeding rashly” and the driver all of a sudden applied breaks due to which the car they were in barged into it.
