David Girardi Biography

After three seasons as an offensive quality control coach, David Girardi began his first season as the Chiefs’ pass game analyst/assistant quarterbacks coach in 2021.

Girardi coached a Chiefs offense that led the league in overall net yards per game (415.8) and passing yards per game in 2020. (303.4). He mostly worked with the wide receivers, who included Tyreek Hill, a first-team AP All-Pro and Pro Bowler.

Hill concluded the season with 15 receiving touchdowns, tying him for the most in a single season in franchise history, and added two more on the ground.

In 2018, he was a key part of the Chiefs’ first-ever home AFC Championship game and an offense that ranked first in the NFL in points per game (35.3), yards per game (425.6), and yards per play (7.3). (6.84).

Girardi spent the 2017 season at Lafayette College as the quarterback’s coach, where he coached a true freshman who started 11 games and set a team record for completions.

Girardi coached the quarterbacks at Geneva College during the 2013 season as an assistant football coach. During his tenure as the passing game coordinator, the Golden Tornadoes set multiple single-game and single-season school passing marks.

He worked as a graduate assistant at Seton Hill University for two seasons (2011-12), focusing on the defensive secondary.
