Why Is Kate Moss Popular?

Moss rose to prominence in the early 1990s as part of the heroin chic fashion style, arriving at the conclusion of the “supermodel period.”

Her collaborations with Calvin Klein elevated her to the level of a fashion icon. Her waifish appearance and role in size zero fashion have made her famous.

Moss has modeled for Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Balmain, Versace, Balenciaga, Burberry, Stuart Weitzman, Rag & Bone, Alexander Wang, David Yurman, Givenchy, Roberto Cavalli, Kerastase, Isabel Marant, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen, Equipment, Rimmel, and Bulgari, among others.

Most magazines, including UK, US, and French Vogue (as well as other international versions of Vogue), Another Man, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, the Face, and W, have featured her on the cover or in fashion spreads.

She has appeared on the cover of British Vogue 30 times, as well as the debut covers of Russian Vogue and Japanese Vogue with Amber Valletta, and dozens of additional international Vogue covers.

Moss has appeared on the cover of 17 editions of W, including one that featured her on nine separate covers. Moss was chosen as W’s inspiration (September 2003 issue).

Moss has also appeared on the first covers of Numéro, Numéro Tokyo, and L’Officiel in Spain.

She has collaborated with photographers such as Mario Testino, Mario Sorrenti, Steven Klein, Juergen Teller, Steven Meisel, and Peter Lindbergh, and in July 2005, she received the Vogue/CFDA award for Fashion Inspiration from the Fashion Designers of America.

In April 2005, a Rimmel London mascara TV commercial debuted, showcasing Moss riding a motorcycle across London while listening to Steven Crayn’s rock song “Another Cold Beer.”
