Luis Gil is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher who won the hearts of baseball fans right from the very beginning. He was born June 3, 1998, in Azua, Dominican Republic. He belongs to mixed ethnicity of African and European descent. His parents are Darlene Morgan and Auriliano Gil. He plays for the New York Yankees of the Major League Baseball(MLB). He made his debut in Major League Baseball in 2021 in the New York Yankees game against the Baltimore Orioles.
He has the history of being the first pitcher in MLB to have a scoreless start in every appearance. Gil started his career with 15 2/3 scoreless innings, the most innings by any Yankee pitcher since 1961. He has a scoreless start in his first three appearances.
Gill initially signed with Minnesota Twins as an international free agent in 2015. He pitched six innings, permitted four hits, and recorded six strikeouts, earning the win. Interestingly, at all times, he did amazing strikes out and performed the best. The 2020 season was missed due to the COVID pandemic.
