Luis Fernando Patio is a Major League Baseball pitcher from Colombia. He currently pitches for the Tampa Bay Rays (MLB). He formerly played for the San Diego Padres in Major League Baseball.



Luis was dealt with by the Tampa Bay Rays on December 29, 2020, along with Francisco Meja, Blake Hunt, and Cole Wilcox, for Blake Snell.

He was named the 23rd best prospect in baseball by MLB.com at the time of the trade, and a top 10 prospect by Fangraphs.



Patio pitched for the Fort Wayne Tin Caps in 2018, posting a 6–3 record, 2.16 ERA, and 1.07 WHIP in 17 starts. He joined the Lake Elsinore Storm for the 2019 season and was named to the 2019 All-Star Futures Game. In August, he was promoted to the Amarillo Sod Poodles.

Patio finished 6–8 with a 2.57 ERA in 20 games (19 starts) between the two organizations, striking out 123 batters in 94+23 innings.

He was promoted to the top leagues on August 4, 2020. He was the youngest player in MLB at the time. In 2020, he pitched in eleven games and finished with a 5.14 ERA.
