Child abduction is being investigated in the case of a Bristol kid who has been missing for more than two weeks.
Madison Thomas, often known as Maddie, was last seen 14 days ago in the Southmead neighborhood of Bristol. Since her disappearance, Avon and Somerset Police have issued a number of public appeals.
DI Laura Miller said: “No one has seen or heard from Maddie for 15 days – since she saw a relative on 26 April when she said she was going to the shop.
“The circumstances of her disappearance are deeply worrying for us; her family and her carers.
“We’ve a number of lines of enquiry and while we’ve had great deal of help from the public to date for which we’re incredibly grateful, we still need more.”
There is no longer a missing person investigation, but rather a child abduction case, according to an update provided this afternoon (May 11).
It is well-known that Maddie uses social media to make new friends, but she is subsequently exploited by those she meets.
If Maddie has left Bristol, detectives believe she might be anywhere in the UK from Wiltshire to Cardiff to Bedfordshire, or even Birmingham.
It’s known that she likes to stay in hotels with men, so police are urging people to think twice before booking a room for someone who looks like her.
