When talking about the Atlanta Falcons All-Time Leading Rusher, Gerald Riggs is the first player to come to mind and yes, he is the All-time Leading Rusher of the Atlanta Falcons.

Between 1985 and 1987, Riggs was selected to the Pro Bowl three times. In 1985, he had his best season, rushing for 1,719 yards and 10 touchdowns while also collecting 33 passes for 267 yards and no interceptions.

n the 1980s, he was the only running back to carry for 1,000 yards without fumbling. Riggs racked up 5,212 running and receiving yards and 32 touchdowns in three seasons from 1984 to 1986. He carried for 6,631 yards in seven seasons with the Falcons, becoming the franchise’s all-time leading rusher. Riggs was acquired by the Washington Redskins before the 1989 season.



Riggs ran for 248 yards and 11 touchdowns in his final season in 1991, helping his team to a 14–2 record. In a single season, he is the first athlete to rush for 11 touchdowns in fewer than 80 attempts.
