American shortstop James Dansby Swanson plays in Major League Baseball for the Atlanta Braves. He was chosen first overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2015 MLB Draft.
Swanson was raised a Braves fan after being born in Kennesaw, Georgia, to two former Troy University athletes.

Due to injury, he missed the majority of his freshman season, but as Vanderbilt’s starting second baseman, he enjoyed a spectacular sophomore campaign.
