Robert Salel is a professional American football coach born on January 31, 1979 in Dearborn, Michigan. He is currently serving as the head coach for New York Jets in the National Football League (NFL).
With 19 years of experience, Saleh has served as an assistant coach for the Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, and San Francisco 49ers from 2005 to 2020, holding his first defensive coordinator position with the Niners from 2017 to 2020.
Saleh was recruited by the Houston Texans as an assistant coach with the guarded unit in 2005. He was kept in Gary Kubiak’s staff as a protective quality control mentor under guarded facilitator Richard Smith in February 2006. Saleh was then elevated to aide linebackers mentor in January 2009.
Saleh and his better half, Sanaa, have four children and two little girls. He is the main Muslim lead trainer in NFL history upon his employing by the Jets.
