Luis Fernando Patiño is a Major League Baseball pitcher from Colombia who currently pitches for the Tampa Bay Rays. He formerly played for the San Diego Padres in Major League Baseball.
Patiño became an international free agent on July 2, 2016, and signed with the San Diego Padres. He pitched for the Dominican Summer League Padres and the Arizona League Padres in 2017, going 4–2 with a 2.25 ERA in 13 games (12 starts).
Patio pitched in 17 starts for the Fort Wayne TinCaps in 2018, posting a 6–3 record, 2.16 ERA, and 1.07 WHIP. He started the 2019 season with the Lake Elsinore Storm and was selected to play in the 2019 All-Star Futures Game.
In August, he became a member of the Amarillo Sod Poodles. Patiño was 6–8 with a 2.57 ERA in 20 games (19 starts) for the two teams, striking out 123 batters in 94+23 innings.
Patiño was promoted to the big leagues on August 4, 2020. He was the youngest player in the American League at the time. In 2020, he pitched in 11 games for a 5.14 ERA.
