Luke Barker is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was up in Chico, California, and graduated from Pleasant Valley High School there when he was 18. He was a member of the Chico State baseball team for four years.
As a junior, Barker set a school record with 18 saves and repeated as an All-CCAA selection with a 4-3 record and a 1.73 ERA in 11 starts, earning him first-team All-CCAA honors and first-team Division II All-American honors.
A free agent, Barker was signed by the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier League after being undrafted in the 2015 MLB draft On November 28, 2016, he was signed by the Milwaukee Brewers.
Class A-Advanced Carolina Mudcats promoted Barker to Class-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in 2017. That year, he was selected Carolina League Relief Pitcher of the Year for his 6–4 record, 20 saves, and 2.21 ERA in the Carolina League.
During the first two months of 2019, Barker was assigned to the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers, where he put up a 1.48 ERA in 23 outings and was named an All-Southern League honoree. To begin the 2021 season, Barker was reassigned to Triple-A Nashville, where he played for the Sounds.
