Andy Goram was born on April 13, 1964, in Bury in the United Kingdom. He played in the Scottish football league as a goalkeeper. After his playing career was over, he continued to work for various Scottish clubs as a goalkeeping instructor. He began coaching part-time when he returned to Motherwell in 2002.



Then, in March 2006 and February 2008, he was the coach for Airdrie United and Clyde, respectively. Having departed Clyde in September 2008, Goram. In January 2012, Goram assisted Hamilton Academical with their issue with their goalkeeping coach. In January 2014, Goram reconnected with his godson David Hutton by accepting the position of goalkeeping coach at Ayr United, where he had previously worked at Clyde and Hamilton.

In October 2014, he began working as the goalkeeping coach for Lowland League team BSC Glasgow. He returned to the realm of professional football in January 2015 after being signed as the goalkeeping coach at Dunfermline Athletic. Before quitting, he worked there till May 2015.

He later worked with Airdrieonians from May to October 2016 as a goalkeeping coach following several managerial and coaching changes. His previous club was Cambuslang Rangers in the West of Scotland Football League.
