Cameron Norrie is a professional tennis player from the United Kingdom. He was born on the 23rd of August 1995.  On April 4, 2022, he earned a career-high ranking of No. 10 in the world in a singles competition, while he was ranked No. 123 in doubles competition (on 23 August 2021).

He won the singles event at four different ATP Tour tournaments, including the Masters 1000 at the 2021 Indian Wells Masters, and the doubles event once.



Since the 18th of October 2021, Norrie has held the position of No. 1 in the men’s singles competition in the United Kingdom

Norrie was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1995 to a Scottish father and a Welsh mother, both of whom worked as microbiologists.

Norrie’s Scottish father, David, hails from Glasgow, while his Welsh mother, Helen, hails from Cardiff.  When Norrie was three years old, in 1998, his family relocated to Auckland, New Zealand, after their home had been broken into.

His parents have remained in that city ever since.  In 2011, at the age of sixteen, he relocated to the United Kingdom, the country of origin of both of his parents.

He spent the first three years of his life in London before enrolling at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth from 2014 to 2017.

During the grass-court season of the 2017 ATP Tour, he decided to abandon his academic career at TCU and turn professional.

The decision was made in June 2017. Since he began his career, he has made his home in Putney, which is located in southwest London .

Norrie made the decision to move back home to New Zealand with his parents for the remainder of the year in March 2020, after the pandemic lockdowns caused the Indian Wells Masters to be postponed.
