Daniel Allen Campbell is an American football coach and former tight end who is the head coach for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He was born in Clifton, Texas on April 13, 1976, and attended Glen Rose High School, where he played as a tailback and tight end. Daniel has served as an assistant head coach for New Orleans Saints for four years. He also served as assistant coach from 2010 to 2015 for Miami Dolphins.

He played for New York Giants between 1999 to 2002, Dallas Cowboys from 2003 to 2005, Detroit Lions from 2006 to 2008 and New Orleans Saints in the year 2009. He coached Miami Dolphins in 2010 as an intern, moved on to a tight ends coach for four years, as assistant head coach and tight ends coach from 2016 to 2020, and currently as Head Coach for Detroit Lions. His entire career has earned him a Super Bowl champion (XLIV) and Ed Block Courage Award in 2005.
