Professional golfer from Northern Ireland named Rory McIlroy is well-known. He competes on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour. On May 4, 1989, he was born in Holywood, England. His amateur career was successful; in 2007, when he was 17 years old, he held the top spot in the world amateur golf rankings for one week.

He started playing professionally later in 2007, and the European Tour quickly became his home. In 2009 on the European Tour and in 2010 on the PGA Tour, he achieved his first victory.
