On Tuesday, October 6, Philippine Tatler’s October 2015 issue’s cover star was announced as Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, the daughter of former president Ferdinand Marcos and Ilocos Norte Representative Imelda Marcos.

People’s reactions to the photo that Marcos uploaded on her Facebook sites were very diverse because they believed that Marcos had undergone plastic surgery and that the photo had been altered in some way.

Imee Marcos, who was born on November 12th, 1955, entered politics not long after her family’s return from exile. Adopted kid Aimee Marcos, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., and Irene Marcos-Araneta were among the siblings Marcos grew up with.

She was elected to three terms as governor of Ilocos Norte and three terms in the House of Representatives. In the 2019 elections, she won a Senate seat.

She previously served as the province’s governor from 2010 to 2019 and as a congressman for the 2nd district of Ilocos Norte from 1998 to 2007.

Marcos has been linked to the family’s stolen money as a beneficiary of several offshore holdings managed by the Marcos clan, as disclosed in the Panama Papers and by evidence uncovered during her mother Imelda Marcos’ trial.

These assets, which the Philippine Supreme Court declared to be “ill-gotten money,” are being sought back by the Presidential Commission on Good Government.
