In 120 games with the Bowling Green Hot Rods of the Class A Midwest League, Walls slashed.304/.393/.428 with six home runs, 57 RBIs, and 31 stolen bases, earning him All-Star honors.

Walls began the 2019 season as an All-Star with the Charlotte Stone Crabs of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League. Due to a quadriceps injury, he missed three weeks of the season.

In June, he was promoted to the Class AA Southern League’s Montgomery Biscuits, where he ended the season. Walls hit.270/.343/.452 with 10 home runs, 46 RBIs, and 28 stolen bases in 96 games between the two teams.
