Jarran Kentrel Reed plays defensive tackle in American football for the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs. He attended Alabama University and was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks.



Reed graduated in 2011 from Goldsboro High School in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Reed was obliged to attend Hargrave Military Academy for a year following his graduation from high school due to his bad grades.

In 2012 and 2013, Reed attended East Mississippi Community College. Reed assisted his squad in winning the NJCAA national championship in 2013.



Reed was credited with 100 career stops during his stint at East Mississippi Community College, including 10.5 tackles for loss. Reed transferred to the University of Alabama in 2014.

He appeared in all 14 games and started 13 times during his freshman year at Alabama. He finished the season with 55 tackles and one sack. Reed pondered entering the 2015 NFL Draft but chose to stay in school for his final year.

Reed started all 15 games as a senior and helped his team win the CFP national championship. He finished his senior season with 57 tackles and one sack.
