One of the tennis professionals from the Czech Republic is Marie Bouzková. On July 21, 1998, she was born in Prague, Czech Republic. She started playing tennis at a Prague club run by her parents.

When she was ten years old, her family relocated to Florida, where she had two years of training at Bollietieri Academy before continuing to work with her father and then Requena starting in 2014. Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams are both athletes whom Marie admires. She also speaks some English, Spanish, and German in addition to Czech.

Marie is now attending Indiana University East to earn a degree in business administration. She reached her career-high WTA singles ranking of 46 on August 31, 2020. She reached her highest WTA doubles ranking of No. 24 on May 9, 2022. She has thus far claimed three WTA Tour doubles championships.

Bouzková has won three double titles and 12 singles titles at ITF Women’s Circuit competitions. In the championship match, she defeated Anhelina Kalinina to win the 2014 US Open girls’ singles title. She competed on the WTA Tour for the first time in the 2015 Abierto Mexicano Telcel, when Sesil Karatantcheva defeated her in the opening round.

After making it to the 2019 Rogers Cup semifinals, where she defeated Sloane Stephens, Jeena Ostapenko, and Simona Halep before losing to Serena Williams, Bouzková gained notoriety. Despite losing, she pushed the former world No. 1 to three sets, taking the first set 6-1. With her countrywoman Lucie Hradecká, she won her first WTA event championship in doubles at the Birmingham Classic in 2021.
