Marie Bouzková is a tennis pro from the Czech Republic. She was born in Prague, Czech Republic, on July 21, 1998. At her parents’ tennis club in Prague, she first took up the sport.

Her family moved to Florida when she was ten years old, and she attended Bollietieri Academy for two years of training before continuing to work with her father and then Requena beginning in 2014. Both Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal are athletes whom Marie respects. Along with Czech, she can also speak a little bit of English, Spanish, and German.

Marie is now pursuing a business administration degree at Indiana University East. On August 31, 2020, she attained her highest WTA singles ranking of 46. On May 9, 2022, she attained her highest WTA doubles ranking of No. 24. She has already won three WTA Tour doubles titles.

At ITF Women’s Circuit tournaments, Bouzková has won 12 singles titles and three doubles titles. She won the 2014 US Open girls’ singles title by defeating Anhelina Kalinina in the final. Sesil Karatantcheva defeated her in the opening round of the 2015 Abierto Mexicano Telcel, where she made her WTA Tour debut.

Bouzková rose to fame after reaching the 2019 Rogers Cup semifinals, where she fell to Serena Williams after beating Sloane Stephens, Jeena Ostapenko, and Simona Halep. She forced the former world No. 1 to three sets despite losing, winning the opening set 6-1. At the Birmingham Classic in 2021, she and her compatriot Lucie Hradecká won their first WTA event championship in doubles.
