Matthew Ebden is a professional tennis player from Australia. On 22 October 2018, he achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 39, and on 31 January 2022, he achieved a career-high doubles ranking of No. 24. Ebden has four ATP doubles titles to his name.

With Jarmila Gajdosová, he won the 2013 Australian Open mixed doubles title and bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, as well as reaching the final of the men’s doubles at the 2022 Australian Open.

Charles and Ann Ebden gave birth to Ebden in Durban, South Africa. Ebden is currently pursuing a business degree while also playing professional tennis full-time. In Perth, Ebden is the number one player for Wembley Downs Tennis Club.



On November 16, 2012, in Margaret River, Western Australia, he married lawyer Kim Doig. He attended Wembley Downs’ Hale School.

The futures tour was where Ebden spent most of his early career. Ebden’s consistent results on the futures tour didn’t begin until the end of 2009, when he made the final of the last four tournaments he entered, winning three of them.

Ebden took part in the Australian Open’s preliminary round in January of 2007. In the first round of qualifying, he defeated Richard Bloomfield of Great Britain 6–3, 5–7, 8–6.

In the following round, he was beaten by Serbian player Ilija Bozoljac, 2–6, 4–6. First Futures event: USA F21 began in August 2007. Ebden won his first Futures event there. In the final, he beat out fellow American Michael Yani, 3–6, 6–1, 7–5.
