The New York Jets are a professional American football team headquartered in New York City. A member of the American Football Conference East, the New York Jets play professional football in the National Football League.

1. Jerome Barkum

After playing college football at Jackson State University, he was picked by the New York Jets in the first round of the NFL Draft in 1972. He was a wide receiver in the 1973 Pro Bowl. Against the Miami Dolphins in Shea Stadium in 1981, he caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the final seconds of the game to give the Jets a 16-15 victory.



It was the first time since the Jets’ playoff exit in 1969 that they made the postseason. For the 1982 season, Barkum was a member of the Jets’ AFC Championship-bound squad.

2. Mickey Shuler

The New York Jets selected him in the third round of the 1978 NFL Draft, putting him at number 61 overall. Shuler, a 6-foot-3, 230-pounder, played in seven postseason games and was selected to two Pro Bowls (1986, 1988). All-Time Jets Team and Dream Team Tight End of the Year nominee.

Shuler had 462 catches for 5,100 yards and 37 touchdowns throughout the course of his NFL career. He is the Jets’ third-leading receiver all-time. His 86 consecutive games with a reception and second-place finish for most touchdowns in a game also make him a two-time All-Pro (three).

3. Rich Caster

Richard C. Caster is a former National Football League (NFL) wide receiver and tight end for the New York Jets. He played 13 seasons in the NFL. In 1972, 1974, and 1975, he was chosen for the Pro Bowl.

4. Dustin Keller

In the 2008 NFL Draft, the New York Jets selected Keller 30th overall. Keller was gradually introduced into the offense with Brett Favre, the team’s seasoned quarterback. Keller tallied 48 receptions, 535 yards, and three touchdowns as a rookie.

Keller amassed 522 yards and two scores on 45 receptions during his sophomore season in 2009.

5. Chris Baker

The New York Jets selected Baker in the third round of the 2002 NFL draft (88th overall). Until he was injured and placed on the injured reserve list in the 2005 season, he was the starting tight end for the New York Jets.

A breakout season for Baker in 2006 helped the Jets to a 10-6 record and the fifth wild card berth on the strength of career-high receiving yards, receptions, touchdowns, and starts.
