Phillips Valdez is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher who was born on November 16, 1991, in San Pedro De Macoris. He currently pitches for the Boston Red Sox in Major League Baseball.

Phillips Valdez signed with the Cleveland Indians as an international free agent on May 29, 2009, and later with the Tampa Bay Rays on December 16, 2010, but was released on May 1, 2011.

In 2011, Phillips Valdez did not play in a professional game. With the Texas Rangers, Phillips Valdez made his major league debut.



On December 16, 2010, he signed a minor-league contract with the Tampa Bay Rays, but was released on May 1, 2011, and did not appear in a professional game that year.

Valdéz went to a Japanese baseball academy in the Dominican Republic after being released. On May 30, 2012, he signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals.

He was sent to the Nashville Sounds to begin the 2019 season. On February 23, 2020, the Boston Red Sox claimed Valdéz off waivers. He was optioned to the Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox on March 8.
