Phillips Valdéz is a professional baseball player who positions as a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox baseball team of the Major League Baseball (MLB). He is a Dominican who was born November 16, 1991, in San Pedro De Macoris, Dominican Republic to Nicolás Quírico Valdéz and  Lucía San Pedro.

Phillips Valdéz began his baseball career in 2009 when he was signed as an international free agent with the Cleveland Indians. Within the same year, he played in some minor leagues till 2010 when he left the Indians.

In December 2010, the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team signed a minor league contract with him but they let him go during midseason in 2011. The following year,  the Washington Nationals also signed him in a minor league contract.

After leaving the Nationals, Phillips got signed again in a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers baseball team for two years. In February 2020, he was traded to the Boston Red Sox team where he currently plays for.
