Stephen Kevin Bannon is a popular media executive, political strategist, and former investment banker. He also served as White House chief strategist during President Donald Trump’s first seven months in office.

He was the former executive chairman of Breitbart News and previously served on the board of Cambridge Analytica, a now-defunct data-analytics firm.

For seven years in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Bannon served as an officer in the United States Navy. Following his military duty, he worked as an investment banker for Goldman Sachs for two years.

In 1993, he was appointed acting director of the Biosphere 2 research project.

Between 1991 and 2016, he worked as an executive producer in Hollywood, producing 18 films. He co-founded Breitbart News in 2007, a far-right website he defined in 2016 as “the forum for the alt-right.”

Following Trump’s election, Bannon was appointed chief strategist and senior advisor to the president, and he became the chief executive officer of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

He left the job eight months later and returned to Breitbart. Bannon quit Breitbart in January 2018 after Trump disavowed him for negative comments recorded in the book Fire and Fury.

Following his departure from the White House, Bannon challenged the Republican Party establishment and backed insurgent candidates in Republican primary races.

Former Alabama state Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, despite Bannon’s support, lost the 2017 United States Senate election in Alabama to Democrat Doug Jones. Bannon proclaimed his intention to become “the global infrastructure for the global populist movement.”

Is Steve Bannon Married?

Bannon has three marriages and three divorces. Cathleen Houff Jordan was his first wife. He married fellow investment banker Mary Louise Piccard in 1995, divorced in 1997, and then married Diane Clohesy, whom he divorced in 2009.
