Stephen Kevin Bannon, a former investment banker, and media executive was born in the United States on November 27, 1953. During the first seven months of U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration, he worked as the White House’s top strategist.

He previously held the position of executive chairman of Breitbart News and was a board member of the now-defunct data-analytics company Cambridge Analytica.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Bannon served seven years as an officer in the US Navy. He spent two years as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs following his time in the military. He became interim leader of the Biosphere 2 research project in 1993.

Between 1991 and 2016, he produced 18 movies as an executive producer in Hollywood. He co-founded the far-right website Breitbart News in 2007, referring to it in 2016 as “the platform for the alt-right.”

After refusing to appear before the United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack, the House of Representatives committee looking into the 2021 attack on the United States Capitol, Bannon was found in contempt of Congress in October 2021.

A federal grand jury indicted him on two counts of criminal contempt of Congress. He was found guilty on both counts in July 2022 after a jury trial.
